California Reading Passage
California stretches from the sunny beaches of the Pacific Coast to the towering peaks of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The state’s climate varies from mild, wet winters and hot, dry summers along the coast to arid and desert-like conditions in the southeastern regions. California is known for its agricultural abundance. You’ll find vast fields of crops, including almonds, oranges, and grapes. The state’s diverse landscapes offer many outdoor activities, from surfing along the coast to skiing in the mountains.
California is not only famous for its landscapes but also for innovation and entertainment. Silicon Valley, located in the San Francisco Bay Area, is known for its high-tech industries and is home to companies like Apple, Google, and Facebook. The state’s entertainment industry, centered in Los Angeles, is where you’ll find Hollywood and the heart of the film and television world.
