Do you need to teach your students about the prefix dis? This prefix dis- presentation takes care of one week of lesson plans!
Prefix DIS- Presentation Daily Routine
Day 1: Introduce the function of prefixes. They change the meanings of words or give us more information about a word. This lesson is about prefixes that change the meaning of a word to mean not or the opposite of the base word. This is the prefix dis-. We use the prefix dis- with verbs, adjectives, and nouns. Today, you will only work with verbs. Students will practice adding the prefix to base words and writing sentences with the words they make.
Day 2: You will follow the same routine as day 1, but you will introduce adding the prefix to adjectives. During practice, students will work with verbs and adjectives.
Day 3: You will follow the same routine as days 1 and 2, but you will introduce adding the prefix to nouns. During practice, students will work with verbs, adjectives, and nouns.
Day 4 – 5: Students will practice with verbs, adjectives, and nouns.
Mixed Review: You will also get 25 mixed review slides to incorporate into later practice sessions.
Of course, you can always access these slides for free on www.TheProductiveTeacher.com!
