Description
Get help teaching natural selection to your middle school science students with this digital science activity. In this activity, students use online resources to answer questions about natural selection and build their background knowledge.
This activity takes students through the first two steps in the learning cycle, including asking questions and accessing new information. In this digital science unit, we provide questions to answer, although students can add their own questions as they explore natural selection. We also provide the resources they need to gather new information. Students will begin to process the new information by recording their existing background knowledge and answering the questions. However, more processing will be needed to help them master the material.
To start, the first two pages of the digital science activity explain the learning cycle to students so that they can take control of their own learning. Look for other resources in my store to take students through the rest of the steps in the learning cycle, including flashcards for practicing new information.
Each provided question comes with at least six online resources to guide students to the answer. Students do not need to study every included resource, but multiple options are included to give students choice in their learning so that they stay motivated. Similarly, students can choose between text and video resources. Teaching natural selection has never been easier!
